New Hymn
This Sunday, November 17th, we will sing a hymn that is new to us, “From Everlasting,” the 2022 adaptation of Psalm 90.
You can familiarize yourself with the hymn by viewing the lyric video here.
Communion & Benevolence Offering
This Sunday, November 17th, we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper at the end of our service. We will pass the elements out in the customary manner, and we will have individual servings of the elements available in the foyer for those who prefer to partake that way.
We will also take a collection for our Benevolence Fund. This money goes to those with tangible needs. Marked silver offering plates will be at each exit for this offering.
Note: If you intend to give to this offering by check, please write a separate one from your check for the General Fund and Missions. This is because the Benevolence Fund uses a different checking account from the others.
Confession of Faith
This Sunday we will confess our faith using the first paragraph of Chapter 2 of the 1677 Confession of Faith (sometimes called the “Second London Confession” or the “1689 Baptist Confession of Faith”).
You can find the text (with light modernizing of vocabulary and punctuation) below:
The Lord our God is but one only, living, and true God; whose subsistence is in and of Himself, infinite in being and perfection, whose essence cannot be comprehended by any but Himself; a most pure spirit, invisible, without body, parts, or passions, who alone has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach; who is immutable, immense, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty, every way infinite, most holy, most wise, most free, most absolute; working all things according to the counsel of His own immutable and most righteous will for His own glory; most loving, gracious, merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin; the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, and also most just and terrible in His judgments, hating all sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty.
Thanksgiving Food Collection

Please bring your donated items by Sunday, November 24th.
Life Abundant Gift Collection
In the lead up to the Christmas season, we are collecting gifts to be given out by Life Abundant Prison Ministries to children of those affected by incarceration.
If you would like to participate, please do the following:
- Choose an ornament from the tree on the table in the Fellowship Hall next to the nursery. (Note: each child has two ornaments on the tree, but you only need to take one of them.)
- Put your name on the sign-up sheet by the child’s name you have chosen.
- Purchase an appropriate gift for the sex and age of the child. (If you need suggestions, these can be found in the folders on the table.)
- Wrap the gift and then attach the ornament to the gift as a tag.
- Return the wrapped gift to the table no later than the evening of Sunday, December 1st.
Thanks to everyone who has already signed up to participate. Please reply to this email if you have any questions.
Thanksgiving Eve Service & Pie Potluck
Join us on Wednesday, November 27th at 7:00pm for our annual Thanksgiving Eve Service and Pie Potluck. We will gather to sing and give thanks to God, and then retire to the Fellowship Hall to enjoy pie and one another's company. Bring a pie to share. We'll see you then!
Guest Preacher
On Sunday, December 1st, Dr. Jonathan Master, the president of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, will minister the Word in the Sunday morning service. Dr. Master and his family were part of FBC Wycombe several years ago and he filled in for Pastor Gerry Newswanger during his illness in 2017.
Please pray for him as he prepares to preach the Word to us.

The text for this Sunday’s sermon will be 1 Samuel 15. The link for Sunday’s live-stream is here.

Giving Information
Giving at FBC Wycombe goes toward three funds: 1) General Fund, 2) Missions, and 3) Benevolence. Benevolence is collected in special plates twice a month; the others are collected every week.
Any undesignated contributions go toward the General Fund. Because Missions has a separate budget, it is necessary for missions giving to be designated. To give to the Missions Fund, please designate the amount on an offering envelope. If giving by check, please designate the amount for Missions in the memo line as well.
As always, offering plates will be placed at each exit this Sunday. If you would prefer to mail in your offering, you may still do so; simply send your gift to the following:
