    Summer Food Drive

As announced last Sunday we are collecting nonperishable food items for the food pantry at Calvary Baptist Church in Bristol. The need has been so great they asked us (along with other supporting churches) to hold a summer food drive.

You can find a list of requested items here. Please bring your donated food by Sunday, August 4th.

    Communion and Benevolence Offering

This Sunday, July 21st, we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper at the end of our service. We will pass the elements out in the customary manner, and we will have individual servings of the elements available in the foyer for those who prefer to partake that way.

We will also take a collection for our Benevolence Fund. This money goes to those with tangible needs. Marked silver offering plates will be at each exit for this offering.

Note: If you intend to give to this offering by check, please write a separate one from your check for the General Fund and Missions. This is because the Benevolence Fund uses a different checking account from the others.

    New Confession of Faith

This Sunday, July 21st, we will confess our faith using Questions 26 and 27 of An Orthodox Catechism by Hercules Collins (1680). The text of the questions (lightly revised for modern spelling and grammar) is below:

What is the providence of God?

The almighty power of God, everywhere present, whereby He does, as it were, by His hand uphold and govern heaven and earth, with all creatures therein, so that those things which grow in the earth, as likewise rain and drought, fruitfulness and barrenness, meat and drink, health and sickness, riches and poverty, in a word, all things come not rashly and by chance, but by His fatherly counsel and will.

What does this knowledge of the creation and providence of God profit us?

That in adversity we may be patient, and thankful in prosperity, and have hereafter our chief hope reposed in God our most faithful Father. We can be sure that there is nothing which may withdraw us from His love, forasmuch as all creatures are so in His power, that without His will they are not able not only to do anything, but not so much as once to move.

    VBS Registration

Registration is now open for Vacation Bible School for July 22-26! You can find the form to register your children here.

    Giving Information

Giving at FBC Wycombe goes toward three funds: 1) General Fund, 2) Missions, and 3) Benevolence. Benevolence is collected in special plates twice a month; the others are collected every week.

Any undesignated contributions go toward the General Fund. Because Missions has a separate budget, it is necessary for missions giving to be designated. To give to the Missions Fund, please designate the amount on an offering envelope. If giving by check, please designate the amount for Missions in the memo line as well.

As always, offering plates will be placed at each exit this Sunday. If you would prefer to mail in your offering, you may still do so; simply send your gift to the following:
