Communion & Benevolence Offering
This Sunday, August 17th, we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper at the end of our service. We will pass the elements out in the customary manner, and we will have individual servings of the elements available in the foyer for those who prefer to partake that way.
We will also take a collection for our Benevolence Fund. This offering goes to those with tangible needs. Marked silver offering plates will be at each exit for this offering.
Note: If you intend to give to this offering by check, please write a separate one from your check for the General Fund and Missions. This is because the Benevolence Fund uses a different checking account from the others.
Confession of Faith
We will confess our faith together this Sunday after the Lord’s Supper using Questions 12-15 of the Heidelberg Catechism (1563). The text of those questions is below:
Q. 12. Since, then, by the righteous judgment of God we deserve temporal and eternal punishment, how may we escape this punishment and again be received into favor?
A. God wills that His justice be satisfied; therefore, we must make full satisfaction to that justice, either by ourselves or by another.
Q. 13. Can we ourselves make this satisfaction?
A. Certainly not; on the contrary, we daily increase our guilt to sin.
Q. 14. Can any mere creature make satisfaction for us?
A. None; for first, God will not punish any other creature for the sin which man committed; and further, no mere creature can sustain the burden of God's eternal wrath against sin and redeem others from it.
Q. 15. What kind of mediator and redeemer, then, must we seek?
A. One who is a true and righteous man, and yet more powerful than all creatures, that is, one who is also true God.
Special-Called Meeting
As announced two Sundays ago, the elders have called for a meeting for this Sunday, August 17th, immediately following the morning service.

Giving Information
Giving at FBC Wycombe goes toward three funds: 1) General Fund, 2) Missions, and 3) Benevolence. All three can be contributed to online. General Fund and Missions giving can be done in-person each Sunday. Benevolence can be given to in-person on the first and third Sundays of the month.
Online giving can be done through the link here or texting the word “Donate” to: (484) 969-9878.
Any undesignated contributions given in person go toward the General Fund. Because Missions has a separate budget, it is necessary for missions giving to be designated. To give to the Missions Fund, please designate the amount on an offering envelope. If giving by check, please designate the amount for Missions in the memo line as well.
As always, offering plates will be placed at each exit this Sunday. If you would prefer to mail in your offering, you may still do so; simply send your gift to the following:
