Nursing Home

When God puts together people to whom  He has given faith in Jesus Christ, a passion for ministering, a love for the elderly, and a desire to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word, song, and action, you can't help but reap excitement, blessing and pure joy! That is what happens every third and fifth Sunday of the month as a team from First Baptist Church ministers to the residents of Buckingham Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Worship is a joyful time of singing hymns followed by a message from God's Word.

Resident of the Month

Each month a resident of Buckingham Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is highlighted as the Resident of the Month. The information given is a brief description of the person and a particular need that person has for you, the reader, to bring before the Lord in prayer in behalf of that individual.

This month's resident: Shirley

Shirley is no stranger to the members of First Baptist of Wycombe. She has been a member of our church for many years and is now a resident of Buckingham Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The Lord has given Shirley a spirit of contentment and joy as she lives out her life at the center. Recently Shirley stated that she is so thankful that the Lord has allowed her to live at the nursing center. She is well taken care of, gets 3 good meals a day (and doesn't have to cook them), and is never lonely. Her children visit her frequently. When asked how we could pray for her, she replied, "that I would do well in my latter years." Shirley certainly reflects the love, grace, and mercy of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her very presence is a "breath of fresh air" at the center. Continue to pray that the Lord uses Shirley to give off the sweet fragrance of Jesus as she lives her life at Buckingham and that, as she has requested, would do well in her latter years.
